Very expected game when 15th ranked DutchGroningen (7-17) was edged by tenth ranked Belgian Belfius Mons-Hainaut (14-11) in Jemappes 91-89 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Union Mons shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Leander Dedroog (199-1999) notched 23 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American forward Brock Cunningham (198-1998, college: Texas) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. Even 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) by Czech-Canadian center James Karnik (206-1998, college: Boston Coll., agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Groningen . American point guard Tavian Dunn-Martin (173-1998, college: FGCU) added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the guests. Union Mons moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Charleroi. Groningen lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 17 games lost.
